The Kill is a song by 30 Seconds to Mars.

Jared Leto (yes, the actor - he's lead singer of 30 Seconds To Mars) has introduced this by saying: "This is a song called 'The Kill.' But don't be scared, it's a nice song. About losing your mind." (thanks, Manu - Natick, MA)

This reached #3 on the Billboard Modern Rock Tracks chart spending 52 weeks on the list, the longest-running hit in the chart's history. The previous record holder had been Crossfade's hit "Cold," which spent 46 weeks on the Modern Rock Tracks chart between 2004-05.

"The Kill (Bury Me)" was awarded Kerrang! Magazine's fan-voted 2007 Single of the Year.

The music promo, which is loosely based on the movie The Shining, was directed by frontman Jared Leto, under the alias Bartholomew Cubbins. It won many awards including the MTV2 Award for Best Video at the 2006 MTV Video Music Awards, Rock Video Of The Year and Video Of The Year at the 2007 Australian MTV Awards and The Rock Out! Award at the 2007 MTV Europe Music Awards.
